La Toya is a multi-faceted entertainer and businesswoman. Best known as a singer and Grammy Award-nominated songwriter, she is also a two time best-selling author, actor, and international television personality. La Toya was born into America’s royal family of music — the Jacksons.
She was exposed to music at an early age and made her debut at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, tap dancing and singing with her brothers, The Jackson 5. As she came from such an extraordinarily talented family, La Toya decided to make show business the focus of her life. She has performed for her fans in over than 90 countries around the world.
La Toya is also a savvy entrepreneur. After noticing Fortune 500 companies’ use of celebrities to market their products, Ms. Jackson created a business that allowed celebrities to self-brand their own products and services. Her business acumen and drive for perfection fortify her competitive edge.
La Toya co-wrote Reggae Nights with Jimmy Cliff which received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album Recording. She later recorded the song for her album. She also wrote “Brown Eyes” for Jimmy Cliff
La Toya was honored as the writer, arranger and producer of the Cliff Hanger Album which won the Best Reggae Album of the year in 1986. She has a namesake dessert at Millions of Milkshakes in West Hollywood. The -La Toya Jackson Shake- consists of strawberries, raspberries, caramel, topped with whipped cream and a Cadbury flake
